Djibouti 2014 - Plateau du Héron - Heron plateau

Le plateau du Héron est la pointe à l'extrême nord de la ville de Djibouti. Il s'agit d'un ancien ilôt rattaché à la terre où se concentre les habitations d'une partie des Forces Françaises basées à Djibouti. L'endroit est sécurisé avec gardes militaires. Il est également connu pour sa petite plage réservée aux militaires français et leur famille ainsi que le club nautique de l'Unité Marine de Djibouti. Le Héron est bordé de récif corallien moribond où sont jonché des carcasses de tanks et véhicules italiens de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale.

The Heron Plateau is located in northern end of the city of Djibouti. It is a former island attached to the continent where is settled a big part of French Forces based in Djibouti. The place is secured with military guards. It is also known for its small beach for French military and their families as well as the nautical club Djibouti Marine Unit. Heron is boarded by dying coral reef which are littered with the carcasses of Italian tanks and vehicles from WWII.
